Best band of the last decade. - By: Franco Nero, 13 Aug 2010
To put it honestly Kasabian are a good band as they are, but compared to the tripe that has existedin the last decade, they arein a different league. They have vision & ambition to try different things which is quite refreshingin the modern day & age where pointless indie bands, who take no shamein trying to sound exactly like eachother, rule the roost. To be blunt, Kasabian have sealed their status as the best band of the last decade, which is probably one of, if not the worst, music has ever seen, with this album being the best of the last ten years.
Why 10"? - By: SPQR, 26 Jul 2010
Bought this as a gift & it was well received. Its a great album, but confused at the need for it to be on 10" not 12", but otherwise looked great
There is HOPE for modern MUSIC - By: Mr. Richard G. Thwaites, 22 Jul 2010
As a 41 year old I would like to think i'm quite open to what I listen to, whether it be; Reggae, Pop, Rock, Soul, Dance, Dubstep the list of genre's is endless..... lol. But over the last ten years or so, i've been quite disappointedin the decline of much of today's modern music. Why? well! most of today's music has lost something, can't exactly put my finger on it, it could be because it's lost it's soul, it's irony, it's power to provoke whatever it is I find myself drifting to the classics, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Jimi Hendrix etc, etc... The last group that really spoke to me was Radiohead which had passion, intrigue, soul & most of all it was music that you couldn't ignore. GOOD MUSIC to me, whatever genre it is, is suppose to move you, either emotionally, physically, or intellectually.
This ALBUM is one of those albums, I can happily say. If you are after an album which makes your feet tap, brain think, heartpound & most of all put a smile on your face, BUY THIS MAJESTIC ROCK ALBUM. THANKS BOYS.
buy it ... - By: Nj O'dwyer, 29 Jun 2010
What can I say about this record that hasnt been said before? nothing...just buy it.
Some people have referred to this as a theme album but the only theme I can hear is the theme of good music. This record cannot be recommended highly enough!

A huge step forward - By: S. JONES, 16 May 2010
One thing I've never understood is the common need people seem to have to compare Kasabian & Oasis. Okay, there's a swagger & arrogance about both groups, but whereas the latter more or less recycled the same (limited) ideas for a decade, Kasabian, with this, their third album, have made something very ambitious. The singles have been the booming, obvious, commercial tracks, but there's much more to the record than that. It's a big - no, huge - step forward. The songs on the first Kasabian album were all quite samey, the second album had more variety but was flawed to say the least. 'West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum' has disparate influences, all the way from the sixties through to the modern day, all incorporated fluently. This is a group not afraid to try new things, & for that I can only applaud them. This is a collection of twelve great songs.
