Good try but can't ever dare to compare with their 70s work - By: O. A. Tan, 06 Aug 2008
As a die hard fan of UH, I am pushing hard to make myself enjoy this album but it's not happenning. It doesn't mean it isn't good. I believe "Wake the Sleeper" is their best album since John Lawton left the band. But if you have ever tasted UH with Ken Hensley & David Byron, then you know what I mean. Give it a listen but don't expect much.
DEFINETLY AWAKE AND ROCKING - By: AJ, 02 Aug 2008
Guys this is the best Heep albumin years. The production on album is superb & sound quality is excellent & begs to be played loud. The band have never sounded better & this album is a rocker with heavy guitars from Mick Box & equally heavy keyboards from Phil Lanzon.Bernie Shaw is back on vocals & handles the song with ease,This lad can sing hes been blessed with powerful pipes just listen. The songs on album are of generally up tempo heavy rock feel & you can tell the band took there timein making this feast of musical delight.I have a large collection of Uriah Heep albums from the Veary Eavy,Salsbury days to Raging Silence,Sea Of Light works & Wake The Sleeper takes its place as one hell of a great album. The stops have been pulled out here & you can just hear the class of this brilliant offering, the guys might bein there 50s but they can show the youngsters how to do it & do it well.I highly recommend this album for your collection you will love it.Hope review is of help to you.

'did I steal your heart and leave it in the rain'... - By: Outta My Head, 24 Jul 2008
ach... Bernie... come on.. can't you hit the high notes anymore?
I was apprehensive about the new Heep album, but was pleasantly surprised that the old Heep magic is still there. Some true greatness from Mr Box, especially at the opening of Wake The Sleeper - just grabs you & reminds you it's time you had a heepfest on your record player.
But Bernie... the vocal range just isn't as it used to be, is it.
That is my only disappointment.
Great songs. Great lyrics (as always). My favourite is Overload.
The Giant is back! - By: G. G. Saunders, 19 Jul 2008
We have only had to wait a decade but The slumbering giant has finally come back to reality with a bump. The Heep 2008 can & must show all 70`s & 80`s rock bands that you don`t have to rest on your laurels & wait for the royalty checks to land on the door mat. It is possible to record a brilliant album that is fresh & new blowing air into your face, like standing on a cliff top on a windy day.Refreshing & breath taking. Mick Box is most on top &in charge!..Rock On.(look & listen) leppard.maiden.purple.whitesnake. etc!!!it can be done & here is all the proof you need.
Very 'eavy, very good! - By: C. B. Young, 17 Jul 2008
I have to confess that I haven't heard anything from Heep since '82s superb 'Abominog' & my initial impression was that it equalled 'nog' as far as quality of musicianship. However, agreeing with a previous review, it took about three listens to really appreciate how excellent this CD is; the guitar & keyboards gel beautifully, a sound rarely heard nowadays & there is a great variety of music between each of the tracks. No, its not Demons & Wizards, (how many of the great 70s bands have repeated the classics of old?). But this is better than I would of ever expected & its 'eavy, well done Heep.
