Rockferry - By: Ms. S. Granaghan, 12 May 2008

Forget comparisons - By: G. Watson, 10 May 2008
As a passionate blues supporter I need to inform the uninformed that blues is where all popular music originated. No matter what syle it has evolved into. While I agree that Duffy has a voice & style that is equal to Dusty, Lulu, Dionne, Aretha & the great Annie, she is quite definitely a unique performerin her own right.
In years gone by Alberta Hunter, Ida Cox, Bessie Smith, Ma Rainey, Sippie Wallace, Victoria Spivey & many other female singers all managed to have successful careers singing the same style of blues songs, but eachin their own unique way.
Those who nit pick about lyrics & singing comparisons have lost the idea of music appreciation for what it is. They are trying to be too clever.
Duffy's CD is a genuine work of art from start to finish. Her voice & passion when singing the songs on each track remind me very much of the late, great Eva Cassidy. Forget those who listen with a jaundiced ear, listen to the CD with your heart. It is wonderful.
Stunning vinyl LP - By: S. Haselden, 05 May 2008
With sounds reminiscent of Lulu, Dusty Springfield & Brenda Lee, this LP is quite simply stunning. If however you are expecting everything to sound like Mercy, forget it. This is true quality...!
The Perfect Album - By: C. Jones, 05 May 2008
Not one bad song!

A beautiful album with a perfect blend of upbeat, feel-good songs complimented with easy-going, relaxing ones.
Well suited for any situation, from driving to sleeping.
This album reaches out to all audiences from young children right the way up to those over 80, & everyonein between.
Simply Stunning - By: Scott Rage, 28 Apr 2008
You will be playing this album throughout the Summer & probably beyond. Its quite simply a stunning work, that is destined to become a classic.
Duffy's voice is completely captivating & Bernard Butler's co-writing & production shine throughin this very mature work.

Yes, it has huge 60's overtones. Yes, it sounds like Nora Jones signing Dusty Springfield. But that's the point. This is a homage to all that was good about 60's soul. And to call it `new-Amy', is unfair to Duffy. This collection of work stands on its own & deserves recognition as an excellent album.

Stepping Stone is my own personal favourite & had me playing the track over & over on repeat. Something I haven't done since my teenage years.

And a message for those who have reviewed this as 'the most boring album they've ever heard'. Phone up the Devil & ask for a copy of the contract. As you appear to have had your soul removed!!!
