Price ComparisonCustomer ReviewsIncredible. I wish I'd been there - By: I. A. Wright, 05 Nov 2008![]() One of the first things we experience on this wonderful DVD is Katherine Jenkins' sense of humour, natural warmth, & un-diva-ish personality, which shine through the whole performance. And talk about pridein being Welsh! :-) Good for her! This DVD is a treat from beginning to end. Wonderful picture quality; super sound; & then there are Katherine Jenkins, Juan Diego Flórez, Serendipity, & the National Symphony Orchestra, all giving of their best. Fantastic! For three of the Extras, just close your eyes & listen--the picture quality is truly abysmal, but that voice, that voice.... Katherine comes home - By: Mart Music, 23 Jul 2008 ![]() The venue of course is Wales, Margam Park, & this 75 minute edition of Katherine's homecoming nicely promotes her Rejoice album which was also releasedin 2007. The songs are a mix of Rejoice hits plus concert favourites, & Katherine provides plenty of audience chat, & of course those giggles, to make this a comfortably familiar & entertaining experience. Good sound, plenty of camera angles, a few extras (four extra songs recorded previously) make this an excellent KJ experience. High points are a `Delilah' good enough to please fellow Welshman Tom Jones, a lovely duet with Juan Diego Florez of the popular `La Donna e mobile', & an emotional `Requiem for a Soldier' tribute to the war casualties of recent years. Funny are the pink boots combined with THAT white dress of the 2007 tour, while the other `frocks' (in her words) get better as the night progresses. The familiar are of course the obligatory `Time to say Goodbye' & the timeless `We'll Meet Again' fully deserving the standing ovation it received. The finale is predictable, the Welsh national anthem is sung with the Welsh flag draped over her shoulders, which makes the audience tearfully patriotic & the rest of the world jealous! Picture quality - By: Dr. T. Mrs R. Powell, 20 Jan 2008 ![]() A previous reviewer had doubts regarding the picture quality, & I think he is right. Perhaps it is due to the fact that the TV set has to do an NTSC to PAL conversion, & something is lostin the conversion process. Why have the makers not given us a PAL version? Nevertheless there is much to enjoy on this DVD. T Powell Picture quality below par? - By: Delboy27sbc, 29 Dec 2007 ![]() A beautiful performance, but (in my opinion & based on results from my DVD player) the picture quality is not as good as the original TV transmission, & lacks clarity. Perhaps this is because the DVD has been issuedin NTSC format instead of PAL. The performance was recordedin the UK (Margam Parkin Wales) so why use NTSC when our own PAL system could have produced better quality pictures? Perhaps the producers could issue a second editionin PAL! "A pleasure to watch and listen" - By: Mr. J. K. J. Goijarts, 02 Dec 2007 ![]() I agree with the two previous reviews. Katherine is a class apart from anything "Singing Wales" can offer, has a good sense of humor & is a pleasing personality. The first DVD "Live at Llangollen" was a joy to watch. "Katherinein the Park" is even more enjoyable as well are the extras. Having livedin North Wales, does not mean I am Welsh, neither I wished I was Welsh, but I like the country & the people. Do I have to say more......
