Fangs Up! - By: frog-jam, 28 May 2008
I seriously love this album. I think they've done rather well at creating songs that I want to sing along to as well as dance to! Tracks such as Kiss My Sass & My Moves Are White get stuckin my head for days, & I'm on no rush to get them out! Some of the songs grow on you, I wasn't too keen on One Day, Robots Will Cry on first listen but I'm getting to love it.
I've been raving so much about Cobra Starship that several of my friends have started to listen to them, & all of them think they are great too! I just wish these guys were bigger!
A Five Star Howl ! - By: The Wolf, 22 Mar 2008
Walkingin the shadow of Fall Out Boy has been no bad thing for these lads but 'Viva La Cobra' more than deserves its' own placein the spotlight.
The eleven songs here display a pure pop sensibility which raises Cobra Starship head & shoulders above many of their current peers.
Latin rhythms, driving rock, bouncy beach-ball electronica & sunshine killer-hook choruses all join upin a seamless collection of five star jump-up-and-down pleasure.
( When she heard 'Damn You Look Good & I'm Drunk' Mrs Wolf thought she was listening to Ricky Martin !! )
Trust me that's no bad thing !
Not long ago, i gave up hope, but this came along, gave me something i could hold on to - By: Grandad Emo, 18 Jan 2008
I've been a fan of Cobra Starship since i saw them support Fall Out Boyin March 2007. I bought this on cheap import from America. This is as good as the first record if not better. The sound isin keeping with WTCSWRTS with a bit more keytar. They have an original soundin my opinion, which will get you dancin' & is freshin a music scene full of average guitar bands. For me, the stand out tracks are Guilty Pleasure, Kiss my Sass, The World Has It's Shine, & Angie. Kudos to Gabe & co. Buy this.
A good follow up album! - By: K. A. Chohan, 30 Oct 2007
After being totally ingrossedin the first album by Cobra Starship (While The City Sleeps, We Rule The Streets) i was eagerly anticipating the release of this second album.
I heard the first two tracks on their myspace page, & felt that they had gone towards a more electric sound, which i felt they didn't needed to go to. But after listening to the whole album i have found that it is an album that changes as you listen to it. Starting with The City is at War & Guilty Pleasure, the band comes up with catchy lyrics, deep hooks & hard hitting bass lines. Tracks like Smile for the Paparazzi, Angie & Damn You Look Good And I'm Drunk (Scandalous) serve up the good time that Cobra Starship fans will be looking for.
Once again, they have help from Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes who appears on Kiss My Sass & being that the album is produced by Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy fame, it serves to keep itin the same mould.
A good second album & definately a grower! I can't stop listening to it now. Just wish it was longer!
