Fantastic! - By: , 30 Jan 2006
If you don't like Phil Collins then this is definitely not the soundtrack for you as he provides all of the vocals but his voice works really well with a score that proves Disney hasn't lost its touch with the music. Most Tarzan fans will instantly recognise 'You'll bein my Heart' & 'Strangers like Me'andin fact from looking at the track listing it might seem like this soundtrack has little more to offer. However, it is the instrumentals that link Disney's trademark power ballads together that really make this album.
Tarzan soundtrack review - By: , 04 Nov 2001
Ever since i saw the film, i just knew i had to buy the soundtrack. From the fabulous warbling of phil collins to the superb instumental efforts of Mancini, this turns out to be a formidable piece of work. i have the albumin french but it is just as immpressive as the soundtrackin english. Although the duet with N*Sync is a fun, inventive piece, i felt that it spoilt the mood somewhat. Still, altogether a astounding & superbly structured album enjoyable to all ages.
A Perfect Compliment To The Film - By: , 25 Oct 2001
I love this soundtrack...- I think Phil Collins did a great job! Some of the tracks are really emotional, & if u listen to them on the film (which is one of my favourite Disney films) they can bring tears to your eyes. An excellent job, well done! You MUST buy this album!
Nearly as good as Alan Menken! - By: , 11 Jan 2001
This is the best CD soundtrack for Adults & Children alike, & I would recommend it to anyone else. I like Phil Collins music, & I like his songs which is why I decided to give it 5 stars. My favourite song is You'll bein my Heart which is Phil's version of the songin the movie.
You Ruined It Phil! - By: , 02 Jan 2001
As an avid Disney fan with a wide musical taste, I find it quite easy to appreciate the value of most music. However, the songs "you'll bein my heart" & "two worlds" not only make me want to retch, but also show no particular compositional talent whatsoever, opposed to some of Disney's past memorable songs where it is quite evident. I fail to see why Phil Collins won an Oscar for his work. The rest of the songwriting that year must have been absolutely dire, not that this wasn't. If I was allowed to give a no-star rating I would & I will be praying that Collins is banned from taking on any more projects with companies that I once had a lot of respect for.
