Price ComparisonCustomer ReviewsA Great collection - By: Georginetto, 21 Sep 2008![]() I am thankfull for that collection. All of Mozart's worksin a box.Simple as that yet shockingly wonderfull for anyone who simply adores Mozart's music like myself. I have no negative critisism for this cd collection & only admiration & love for Wolfgang's music I must add, therefore a rather biased opinion perhaps. Each cd is labelled, the whole collection is well organised & the sound quality/ performances are of high standards. But its everything.... all of this genius lifeworkin a box.... And there is a price tag on it too. For me its a priceless gift & therefore I will refrain from any further comments apart from saying that for anyone who loves Mozart's music this is a great chance to have it all. In a paper box. How offending yet lucky to have. Astounding! - By: A. Norman, 05 Jan 2008 ![]() This boxed set constitutes the lifetime works of the greatest man who ever lived. It is the difinitive collection of Mozart & incorperates his complete works, at amazing value. The quality of the recordings is excellent, as is the stylein which it is presented; the box is made of thick & durable cardboard (not like packaging cardboard but re-enforced & secure: you would have a very difficult time bending it) & the paper wallets are colour-codedin the box so that you can, very easily, find what you are looking for. There is also a list on the inside of the lid which details everything that isin it & where to find itin the box. This is a must-buy & is a great treasure to possess. Essential purchase for Mozart lovers - By: Mart Music, 24 Jun 2007 ![]() As box sets go, they don't come much bigger, better & bargain-priced than this. 170 CDs representing the entire lifetime works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, this collection was put together to commemorate,in 2006, the 250th anniversary of the composers birthin 1756. There's obviously insufficient space here to discuss the merits of each CD, suffice to say I have absolutely no criticism of the recordings & performances of these works. I'm just grateful to have the opportunity to savour the complete musical output of one of history's most famous composers. To summarise the collection, the CDs are packaged into paper sleeves (each one showing full track details, orchestra, conductor, soloist, recording date etc) & presentedin a flip-top cardboard box measuring only 30cm wide. The 9 sections are: 1. (11 CDs) Symphonies - all 41 of them are recent (2001-2002) recordings played by the Mozart Akademie Amsterdam. 2. (18 CDs) Concertos - of particular note are the Derek Han concertos for piano. 3. (23 CDs) Serenades/divertimenti/dances - including of course serenadein G major `Eine kleine Nachtmusik'. 4. (16 CDs) Chamber music - violin sonatas, church sonatas. Some lesser-know worksin this section. 5. (13 CDs) String ensembles - including duos, trios, quartets & quintets. 6. (15 CDs) Keyboard works - this time piano sonatas, harpsichord & organ works. 7. (21 CDs) Sacred works - a big section of requiems, chants, masses, & Freemason music (how many have got THAT on CD ?!) 8. (9 CDs) Concert arias, songs & canons, again there are some lesser-known Mozart works here. 9. (44 CDs) Operas - whopping section containing all of Mozart's 19 operas. Included also is a PC format CD with information on Mozart's life, biographies of the performers/orchestras/conductors, comments on each CD, libretti (words) to some of the vocal works. Careful if you print it out though, it's over 200 pages long. Probably one of the most comprehensive box sets ever produced.
