If you go to a Stones gig you will find a fifty year age cross sectionin the audience. This is not the case with L&M and, maybe I'm wrong, but if you weren't 'getting down'in 1973ish then you are unlikely to enjoy this. But if you were BUY THIS DVD. It is a very intimate concert relayed from Santa Barbarain 2005. There is plenty of interraction with all involved & it must have been great to have been there & see these guys & a great band after so many years. Kenny looks great. Jimmy looks like he's been eating too many pretzels but he still plays a mean set of strings! My one 'spit my dummy out' is that my favourite L&M track (Move On from the Mother Lode album) is not on it but it still gets 5 stars & multiple goose bumps of nostalgia. Thanks Guys!

I loved Loggins & Messina First time around , & bought their albums on Import. I have been catching up with a lot of my heroes now on DVD.
Some are dissappointing, & the years have been unkind . NOT THESE TWO.
I loved the subtlety of the beginning, & the voices & arrangements are 1st Class. A Most enjoyable way to reunite for an evening.

I have been a fan of these two guys since the 70s & was very disappointed that they split right before their first UK tour. All we had were the albums. I've since re-purchased all of them on CD. They released many of my favourite albums including Mother Lode & On Stage. They've been going their separate ways for the last 30 years or so. Now back together for this 2005 tour, none of their magic had diminished. Great songs, well sung & with a marvellous band. Ratherin the mould of Brian Wilson, they have surrounded themselves with stellar musicians who can make the most of Kenny & Jim's intricate arrangements. Allin all an excellent release. The DVD release of this concert (it is also available as an audio CD) includes more material, truly fantastic 5.1 DTS sound & a bonus section of an early 70s performance. Now all I need is that postponed UK visit! Kenny & Jim - make it happen soon!
