Music for Zen Meditatio - By: Adam, 09 Feb 2008
This CD is simply superb. I was a bit concerned about having a clarinet play Zen music, but I needn't have worried. The sound is beautiful. I have been listening to so-called "meditation" music for years, but this is by far the greatest. I find it is not a distraction, like most other music, but is instead calming & stilling. It has inspired me to buy much more of this type of music as it is only now that I realise most of my other so-called "meditation" music was simply not that at all. If you are looking for music to still your mind & create space & beauty, buy this CD. You won't be disappointed.
Ditto - By: BB, 09 Feb 2008
I, too, have had this CD for some years, & never tire of it. In my opinion, that's because it isn't 'music',in the sense of an entertainment, but a studyin sound that can be very helpfulin the practice of mindfulness.
You never get tired of it! - By: D. D. Pianta, 10 Oct 2007
I have been listening to this CD for a long time: I never get tired of it! Simply beautiful!
This quiet music seeks your attention too loud; and is too mournful to be salubrious - By: Roy Blows, 26 Sep 2007
I enjoyed the music, & particularly the innovative use of instruments, but I would not recommend this CD to anyone looking for something to help them relax, particularly if their nerves arein a bad way.

I suppose it depends on what you personally find relaxing: the music floats along adequately, without any shrill surprises, but it can be somewhat hebetudinousin places, which can leave the listener feeling depressed.

In general, the music I find most relaxing has a benign, uplifting dimension, but "Music for Zen Meditation" is too much on the mournful side.

The musical performance is very impressive, but I would say a little self-conscious, & it's not easy to let go & relax when it feels like the artist is seeking your constant approval ("listen to this, you'll like this bit.. wait for it.. that was good, wasn't it!".

If you are looking to relax, I would recommend some carillon music - it does for me!
