Patchy - By: A. Falkiner, 01 Apr 2008
In my younger days when PHM & TDS were doing the rounds i was purely into rock & had no taste for electronica, & never really discovered i actually liked NIN til the last couple of years. By the time i heard With Teeth tho i was much more familiar with the bands other material, & so i was left with the impression that this album wasn't a brand new studio albumin its own right but more a collection of outtakes taken from the PHS, TDS & The Fragile sessions, re-recorded/remastered for With Teeth.
Reznor's undeniable genius is evidentin a few of the tracks; the title track With Teeth & Right Where It Belongs being my particular favorites, alot of the material harkens back to the previous different eras of NIN so strongly i was just left with the feeling that they belonged with those albums but weren't good enough to make it onto them.
Whereas the other albums have a common thread, a unity, With Teeth feels like a pretty disjointed affair with a few highlights on an overall mediocre album. Still it's worth buying if only for With Teeth, Sunspots & Right Where It Belongs.
Trent Reznor delivers yet again - By: John Dwice, 28 Mar 2008
The 4th album from Nine Inch Nails, one of the most influential alternative rock bandsin the past decade. From a man whose past albums have spawned from the creative side effects of alcohol, drug abuse, anxiety & depression. With Teeth proves that Mr Reznor is a great musician with or without drugs & alcohol. Trent has channeled his feelings & opinions into a melodic, destructive & intense sound. Yes, there is still nihilistic, & depressing lyrics but at the same time there is a feeling of postivity & optimism. Something that was missingin the Downward Spiral & Pretty Hate Machine.
The album is consistent, this is a positive aspect with a small downside - the "sound" of this album is less raw & dark as other NIN albums. The consistent sound of heavy bass & eerie high guitar does get a bit tedious on the ears. This is after rinsing the album though, Ive been listening to it on & off for a year. Some songs such as "All the lovein the world", "Only" & "The Line begins to blur" & "right where it belongs" require a few listens to really get into - which gives the album more depth.
This is one of NIN's best albums without a doubt. I also reccommend to watch the live versions of these songs on the "Beside youin time" DVD. Songs like "beside youin time", "love is not enough" & "The line begins to blur" sound a thousand times better live. To an extent every song on this album is brought up to a new, higher level when played live. In fact If you've only got enough money to buy one or the other I would reccommend the DVD hands down. Ive seen alot of bands live & Mr Reznors live set-up is on a completely different level. Just listen to Jeordie Whites bass on "only"..

FULL ON - By: sNells, 25 Jul 2007
I love this album...i was first drawn to it cause i heard & saw the video of "only" on youtube & it just clicked with my state of mind. It is very profound & moody, full on & cutting & diverse. It floats from full on to abstract tript out moments breaking suddenly into full on & heavy again which some people who like an album to flow smoothlyin one genre may find a little inconsistent. There are slow gentle haunting tunes on this album & fast & heavy tunes/parts on this album & then also slow gentle that become fast heavy & vice versa. When i say Full on & heavy i am meaning slightly more up tempo excited/frustrated & assertive sounding lyrics with hard riffs moving the song along. I think there is one swear word on this album if you are sensitive to these : )
Will satisfy your every emotion... in time... - By: Mr. Aj Des Forges, 13 Jul 2007
This album washed over me the first few listens, only the singles stood out apart from the wanderful "All the lovein the world".
After seeing them play live, however, one track stayedin my head as one of the most powerful musical moments I have ever witnessed! That track was 'Beside Youin Time'...
As soon as I was back from that amazing gig, I started rotating the album quite heavily & it took on a whole new dimension. Beside You In Time has become my track of the year & the whole album has grown on me to the extent every track is mind blowing... The more intense tracks like 'You Know What You Are' & 'Getting Smaller' are supremely satisfying when turned very loud, & are balanced nicely by tracks like "Sunspots" & "Every Day is Exactly the Same"... finishing on the perfect "Beside You In Time" which leads on to "Right Where it Belongs".
To me this album transcends everything that went before. It is a modern masterpiece...
