Beautifully Human - By: Spider Monkey, 05 Oct 2007
Jill's second studio album & we get another album of sumptuous vocals & soulful grooves. Not only has Jill Scott one of the most soulful voices i've heardin years but she has integrity & spirit. Her studio work is excellent & Jill Scott live is magical & well worth a try if you like this. This CD is worth it for 'Golden' alone, which is an upbeat song, & 'Rasool' which has some amazing lyrics that I found very moving. Buy this album & enjoy the poetry of her lyrics & feel the soulin her vocals. Amazing artist!

Truly beautiful.
At the recent Sugar Water festivalin Brooklyn NYC, Queen Jill put together a delicious concert with fellow neo-soulsters Queen Latifah & Erykah Badu.
My fullest of respect to the other two artists who are amazingin their own rights but Jill Scott stole the show with joints from the 'Beautifully Human' album including 'Golden' which can get even the most heaviest of sleepers up & goingin the morning. I mean who needs coffee when you have Jill?
This to me is what music is all about. I can groove to, relate, cry, reminise & much more to Beautifully Human.
The whole album is superb. Many more slow sultry sexy joints on this record than on Jill's debut. Highlights include:
'Golden' - works better than a Duracell battery
'Cross my Mind' - so so real this is what sets Jill apart from counterparts
'I'm not afraid' - you can relate because Jill bears all
'Whatever' - go girl
'My Petition' - on a par with 'Watching Me' on Jill's debut album. This shows Jill is as conscious as she is real.
Everyone who takes contemporary music seriouisly & isin the mood for treating themselves should purchase this album & if you haven't already, Jill's first which will give you a taste of Jill's wrath. I daresay we arein for some serious treatsin the future. I also recommend snapping up any chance to visit Queen Jin person it has such an impact on you, you'd have to experience it for yourself.
Go girl!
A beautifully beautiful album - By: Rachel Kinchin, 22 Aug 2006
A more mature album than "Who is Gill Scott?" but equally as brilliant & personal. Gill shows you something of her soul with every line of every song. Her music is just so sexy isn't it?! If you love neo soul, funk, blues, jazz etc. you'll love this. I don't know anyone who has had the pleasure of hearing Gill Scott's velvety vocals, who doesn't love her.
great......you have to get it! - By: Roo, 09 Aug 2006
Summer days, summer nights, put this on & just baskin the warmth of her voice. She looks as she sounds, beautiful, I recommend her first album too. Another reason to buy it is that my kids (all under 5!) love her voice & settle down when this album is played!!! Buy it, you wont be disappointed.
Soul Queen - By: Mr. G., 27 Jun 2006
I'm a fairly recent convert to soul over the past few years but Jill Scott is the Queen of Soul for me, only Erykah & Angie Stone come close, I thought that this album might be let down after Who is but shouldn't have worried it's a classic, drawing on a range of influences including jazz & hiphop she is such an artist on so many levels & you can see her inspirationin the work of many of the new upcoming UK acts like Joss Stone & Toni James.
Star tracks for me are Whatever & Bedda at home, anyone who loves soul should have thisin their collection.
