Mamma Mia Rocks¬¬ - By: M. C. Batson, 06 Mar 2007
I love this CD. I bought it after seeing the musical because I enjoyed the musical so much & wanted something from the show that I could play time & time again.
This is amazing, just as amazing as the show. I can play it from start to finish without wanting to skip any of the tracks.
The vocals/singers on this CD aren't as good as the singer who I saw but it is still a good CD to listen to especially if you have been to see the show & have enjoyed it.
This will certainly be played time & time again because it is a great CD.
What A Show! - By: Rachel, 18 Jan 2006
I saw Mamma Mia two summers ago, when I was around eighteen years old, while I was visiting my brotherin Toronto Canada. We were actually meant to see another musical that was on at the time but it had actually stopped running the day we arrived! I was annoyed that the musical we were meant to see wasn't on but my mother really wanted to see Mamma Mia so I decided to tag along anyway. It was truely a show to remember... I initially thought the musical was just a tribute to Mamma Mia but was so shocked to find how closely each song could actually be linked to the story of the show. In a nutshell, the show is about a young woman about to be married & her search to find who her real father is. From reading into her mothers things, she soon finds theres a possibility that any three men could be her father so she invites them all to the Island where she will be wed. It also follows the story of her mother & her mother's two best friends & their nostalgic look down memory lane! I found the show so emotionally moving, especially when the song "Slipping Through My Fingers" is played.
I actually bought the soundtrack straight after the showin Toronto but i've been playing it so much for the past year & a half that it has stopped working! So I came on to buy it again & just thought i'd share my views with the rest of the "Mamma Mia" fans. If you havent bought this album yet, i really advice you to do so, & if you havent seen the show, you havent lived! Abba truely are an inspiration! I'm actually going to see the show again nowin March when it comes to Belfast. Its a completely different cast so atleast It won't be exactly the same as the showin Toronto! I can't wait...
speechless - By: , 03 Mar 2005
As a femalein my late teens, i cant ever say that i was a huge fan of Abba, but being a person thats willing to try anything once i decided to take a trip to Mamma Miain the Point Depotin Dublin.I was truely speechless after walking out of the show. The very next day, the only agenda i had was to hit the record shops to purchase the soundtrack. It has been nearly a year & everytime it brings a smile to my face.A FANTASTIC album worth buying.
Hear CD then Show OR See Show then CD. There's no difference - By: Alex, 08 Jan 2005
This is a stunning show that makes you smile long after the event. This CD has the energy of the fantastic music & also leads you through an outline of the story. If you see the show you WILL buy the CD. I have to declare an interest at this point as I have now seen the show 6 timesin London & twicein America. It is possible that I have lost my objectivity!!
