Same stuff but still good - By: Stampy, 30 Aug 2006
The renowned producer Pharrell Williams brings his talents forward once again to the follow up album to the band's first album `In search of...' which was ok but this is by far a better buy if you're looking for exciting rock/rap music.

The most influential tracks are `She wants to move' `the way she dances' & `jump' which all provide an upbeat tone & justify the rocking genre perfectly.

Some tracks to be skipped are `Backseat love' & `Breakout' which sound awful with a backing track that's sounds uncomfortable & unjustified.

With classic rapping by Pharrell & the other members playing instruments it is an acceptable album, perhaps not worth buying but listening to if you like this type of music.
No one ever really...... has made such an album - By: , 12 Jan 2006
On first listen, I wondered if N.E.R.D had shot themselvesin the foot. Having already listened to In search of.. several times, I was shocked to find this Lp "Fly or die" a completly different experience. To me this album cannot be classified as one particular genre of music & it makes me wonder if N.E.R.D weren't sure either. The album jumps around a lot & there are some moments when you think that they have got the order of songs wrong. For example wonderful place, a very laid back, Bacarach esque track, where Pharell's falsetto describes his look on the world. It then jumps to when a family go on a boat & the youngest member nearly dronws. You do feel quite heartfelt when listening to this track, a mother's desperation to see whether their child is alive. But then before you have time to contemplate on this it jumps to a heavy rock track. though there is a lot of political referencesin here I feel that N.E.R.D could have easily have made a dtwo disc album with the material. Do listen as there are hidden gemsin this song that are only apparent when you listen again. I think that if you liiked the first album, like me you will be skeptical but do give it a go.

fly or die has to be the second most played c.din my mucic collection!(and i play ALOT of c.ds!) It is a must HAVE c.d! although I am sad to admit that it is not as amazing as 'in search of' n*e*r*d first album it is still a great follow up. Alot more rocky & alot less clipse :( still if ur a n*e*r*d fan its deffo a gud buy!!!

Pretty Good - By: , 08 Feb 2005
This album has 3 tracks which stand out so far above the rest that it makes you wonder why they didn't make the whole album like that. It makes you wish they did anyway. It's pretty inconsistent & therefore quite frustrating to listen to at times. There's still something unique about what N*E*R*D are doing though, the best might yet be to come.
