just as good - By: , 15 Jan 2003
I think Saian Supa Crew are extremely talented & this follow up album is just as good as their first. If you like a different slant to your hip hop buy this album.
The new style - By: , 09 Aug 2002
I bought this album a few months ago knowing just 2 songs before my purchase, but once i had listened to it, i knew it was an excellent purchase. Out of all the songs on it, there is just 2 which a think are just okay, the rest are either good or brilliant. They have an excellent lyrical ability that, even though i do not speak french, sounds really good. This album impressed me so much, i bought the previous album by them. Again, i was plesently surprised.
If you want to hear the greatest french hip hop there is, then I strongly suggest you buy this album.
Doing themselves justice, the Saian return. - By: , 24 Nov 2001
It was always going to be difficult to follow up their first album KLR (Named after a deceased member of the crew), this effort gets very closein places to the brilliance that they displayed earlier.
This album is slightly darker with a greater concentration on production than before. Having said that the feeling that they're all having a blast of time recording the tracks is very evident. The free abandonin their previous work is now less common but once again the mix of gorgeous soul vocals, first class rapping & of course beatboxing wins out.
There is a temptation with less talented hiphop acts to hide behind loud hard beats & catchy hooks, although these are present here they are only used to complement the crew's undeniable talents.
The highlight of this album for me is the drum & bass inspired African chorused 'A co'mow (Hamisow boh)'.
Try counting the number of cultural influences appearing on this album & I guarentee you will run out of fingers (and toes). Forget your preconceptions about foreign rap. This is hiphop at its best, intelligent & original. Go out, buy it & surprise yourself.
