Third time I've tried to get this review on... - By: Big Jim, 05 Dec 2007
Never having considered listening to Rammstein before - what use could I have for German industrial metal after all? - I was sparked into doing so by getting the "Emigrate" album, by the guitaristin the band, Richard Kruspe. I am very glad I did. I can't add any new revelations to those listed below. Listen without prejudice & prepare your wallet for some action!
should go down in musical history as one of the best albums ever - By: D. M. Clarkson, 28 Oct 2007
This masterpiece has to be one of the best albums ever made. Eleven songs, eleven classics. There can't be many albums out there where every single track is gem. Mutter slips into my all time best albums ever with ease. It's genius, made by musicians from another planet with far superior intellegence to us mere earthlings. In fact it's probably the best album that has ever been made & I definately want to hear the one that knocks it off its perch. Hopefully Rammstein's next. If Rammstein get your juices flowing you have to buy this.In fact buy two copies justin case there's ever a world shortage.
The band's best album by miles - By: M. McManus, 06 Oct 2007
I own all of Rammstein's albums, & feel that this is definitely their strongest ever offering. The frenzied electric guitars & smashing drums are powerful as ever, & these really propel the legendary Teutonic roars of the lead vocalist along. There are some glorious tracks, especially "Links-2-3-4", which achieves the Rammstein signature combo of ghostly sounds/rocky sounds & will really get you rocking. The track "Sonne" is also a good example of this combo, & is something truly special when you can turn up the volume. Allin all, this is definitely the strongest album the band have ever produced, & is a must for any genuine fan. Its also a great introductory album if you are not sure if you like them or not. This will definitely convert you!
Rammstein`s best album. - By: zivi browning, 22 Jul 2007
Defined by its all-round bubbley keyboard feel, this is definatley Rammsteins best album. The best song is Spielhur, as that is the song that got me hooked on rammstein, & caused me to buy 8 [!!] of thier CDs. All the tracs here are good except Nebel, the last one. Feur frie! is probably my 2nd favoirite of all the rammstein songs, & this album meats all the rest hands-down! I`d deffinatley reccomend it!
Rammstein - Mutter - By: Steven, 13 Oct 2006
This album is brilliant. It features some of the catchiest, heaviest guitar riffs around. The drums have a military type feel, a lot like Marilyn Manson. Not all of ther tracks are heavy throughout though, Mutter is essentially a ballad, & a great one at that.
Brief overview of each track:
1. Mein Herz Brennt - 5* One of the most powerful tracks ever recorded. The strings work perfectly along side the montonous guiar riff, this is the track that made me a Rammstein fan.
2. Links 234 - 4* Great riff, not quite as powerful as some of the other tracks but still a very enjoyable song to listen to, also fun to play guitar along to.
3. Sonne - 5* The song that most casual fans or non-listeners will recognise. It was played almost constantly on kerrang for a while. The chorus is very powerful, with guitars that threaten to blow your speakers at any moment.
4. Ich Will - 5* Simple but effective riff, cool vocals. A catchy little keyboard piece runs throughin the background. Not the best song on the album, but very good.
5. Feuer Frei! - 3* This track is the worst on the albumin my opinion. It may be good live but on record it seems to lack the power & catchiness of the rest of the album.
6. Mutter - 5* Another powerful track. This is a ballad, & is absolutely brilliant. I get a lumpin my throat when I listen to this. Rammstein really know how to convey emotion & this song shows that. An album highlight.
7. Spieluhr - 5* The proof that a great riff can be exceptionally simple. This is one of my favourite riffs ever & it comprises of 3 or 4 notes. The song itself features a rather humourous spoken introduction, but once you get past that it's a great song.
8. Zwitter - 5* Great song. The sample of the woman saying zwitter is great & really adds an edge to the song. Cool chorus.
9. Rein Raus - 5* Another cool sample here. Great song yet again, the album shows no sign of losing quality.
10. Adios - 5* A Great faster track, should have been a single instead of Feuer frei! But then I'm notin charge of the band, unfortunately :(.
Hard to fault this track.
11. Nebel - 4* A cool track, the only reason I'm not giving this track 5* is because it is easily forgetable.
Allin all, this album is amazing & I would reccommend it to any self respecting metal/industrial fan. Also, make sure you check out these nutters live!
