Average-Blues - By: John Davison, 21 Dec 2003
Well i am afraid i cannot agree with the other previous reviews of this c.d. I find this very average. I have listened to this on many occasions & quite honestly his guitar style gets on my nerves after a few tracks.Yes he can play fast but he needs to learn how to slow down & phrase his music. Compared to S.R.V., Hendrix, Johnny Winter,Robben Ford,Rory Gallagher etc, i find him second rate. But this is only my opinion, and remember music is a very personal experience.
THIS GUY is the greatest guitarist on earth today - By: dom.murphy@virgin.net, 18 Nov 2001
Ok Ok we have all heard Hendrix, Clapton & Page ,but nobody ( repeat nobody)can play like Mr Trout. I did not believe a fender guitar could actually talk, but with this guy hitting the strings believe me it does. complimented by superb sound engineers for a live recording, you feel like your standing next to Walter & the Boys. This is total Blues Rock to die for & if there is a better guitar player around today then I haven't heard them! EC & other pretenders you are notin this league I'm afraid.
CAUTION. supreme bluesman at work.! - By: C.P. JARVIS, 17 Nov 2000
Walter Trout has actually been around for years & had more than paid his dues. Listening to this CD can only lead one to ask the question,"Why is this man not amongst the greats?". Well, that day may not be far away. True there is a bit of everybodyin here. A sprinkling of BB KING & the odd helping of HENDRIX. The execution of each track is superb. The slow number, "I Shall be Released" is sublime. Definately a highlight. Buy this CD. Your ears will love you for the rest of your life.
