Dancing Man and Woman - By: Nicholas Colley, 07 Oct 2008
I came across Andy Sheppard through his collaboration with Joanna MacGregor on Deep River & was immediately impressed by his easy laid back & unobtrusive but significant style of accompaniment. As leader he is no less & no more than one of equals & makes for superb listening - but you have to listen. Relatively easy it may be but demands your attention, or it's wasted.
Deep River is an absolute knockout. MacGregor, with her classical backround, is a wonder.
gratefully stumbled upom - By: C. Hazelton, 28 Mar 2008
I was just browsing through thr jazz & blues sectionin the local library for something different to listen to. Hey ho. It's nice it's light & it's good jazz of the highest order. And that's why I'm here to buy it. Can't say much else really. Listen, you'll be delighted I think.
smooth and distinctive - By: Jane, 23 Jan 2008
This is my favourite album by a favourite musician. If you're not familiar already with Andy Sheppard's smooth & distinctive style of jazz, this is an excellent place to start. Fabulous late-night music, wonderful sexy sax. Closein spirit to 'Learning to Wave', another great album. This is a classic which you'll play again & again.
