This is probably the best collection available for xmas. Standout tracks are East 17, Pretenders, Pogues, Johnny Mathis, Elvis & Mariah Carey.
Upbeat, jolly and sure to get you into the festive spirit - By: , 01 Nov 2000
This is a sound buy if Christmas music is on your hit list this year. It has the usual classics including Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas" & Elton John's "Step Into Christmas", but doesn't fail to deliver on comtemporary tunes either. East 17 feature, as do Ladysmith Black Mambazo. There are a couple of cover versions, Vanessa Williams performing a beautiful version of "Have Yourself A Merry Litle Christmas" & Whigfield's attempt at "Last Christmas" (this being the major pitfall of the compilation). In a nutshell, this album does exactly what it should. It has all the hits of your typical Christmas party album, & throwsin a mixture of upbeat tunes with some great old croons. Virtually every artist's name you will recognise & I can guarantee the album will have you dancingin your kitchen one minute & reminising of Christmas' gone by the next.
The first CD is good, but the second CD is listenable - By: , 11 Dec 1999
I bought this CD mainly to cover tracks I did not have on my collection of Christmas Albums. Some of the tracks are well known but there are some I have never heard before. It is good value if you do not own a Christmas Album. There is some duplication from previous Christmas Albums
