Everyone's wrong....this is the BEST one! - By: Richie, 14 Dec 2007
Very, very raw sounding album- but manages to be cool & seriously heavy at the same time- helped by some fantastic drumming by David! The first one of their CDs I ever bought & the best album overall (although 'Blind' on the first album is their best effort)....best tracks are chi & good god....and although no-one else has mentioned it "swallow" has a great, dark riff.
AMAZING!!!!!! - By: D. Buttar, 06 Nov 2004
Though I haven't heard the first of their albums, I would rate this as the best album Korn have produced. I've heard all but the first one & they can only dream of coming close to Life is Peachy.
The album starts as it plans to continue, with the brilliant mini track Twist which frankly is almost worth the entire price on its own, its that impressive. Other highlights include Chi, Lost, Mr. Rogers, Good God & ADIDAS, the last being evidence that you don't need amazing lyrics to have a good song.
This album is brilliant. If you like any of Korn's other stuff, you will definately not be dissapointed by this outing. It is a masterpiece, combing aggression with excellent melodies.
Good, 1 under appreciated track - By: , 12 Mar 2004
I love this album for a few reasons.
It seems to be KoRn's 'weird' stage as I call it. Allow me to make it clearer.
Korn = Strongest stage
Life Is Peachy = Weird stage
Follow The Leader = Drug-fuelled stage
Issues = Party stage
Untouchables = Nu-metal stage
Take A Look In The Mirror = Peak Hardcore Stage.
Peachy really is interesting. People love ADIDAS, Good God & Wicked, but the best song on this album is actually Mr Rogers. This is a truly brilliant song. The fact that it sounds like it's being recordedin a tin can gives it a truly raw sound. It's a jittery song which tells the story of a TV program Jon used to watch: Mr Rogers. If you're not familiar with this show, it was about a nice man who told all kids to be nice to everyone. When Jon tried this on 'school bullies' or 'hard kids' it was obvious they weren't going to take kindly to it. Jonathan Davis really puts on his vengeful character here & I love it. If you are new to Korn, then I highly recommend this album, not for Mr Rogers alone, but also for the opening mini track twist & the genuine sense of being with korn on this recording.
WARNING: THIS ALBUM PACKS A MEAN PUNCH! - By: , 29 Apr 2003
I bought this album a few weeks ago because it was the only Korn album I didnt have, follow the leader being my 1st purchase when it came outin 98. It did take me a couple of listens before I began to realy like this album because I noticed a slightly different sound. I feel the songs are a little darker & more pychotic then usual which is a good thing. My favourite tracks are Twist, Chi, Lost, Swallow, Mr Rodgers, A.d.i.d.a.s & Kill you. Wicked is a rap/metal version of one of Ice Cubes songs which is not bad. Jon Davis has to be one of the most powerful & creative metal vocalists around with the rest of the band being equaly as talented. I would of given this album 4 stars & a half because its not perfect but its a must have for any serious Korn fan or for people who like nu/metal with a twist! Buy it, its not that expensive & remember to play it LOUD for best results.
Worst Korn album? No! - By: , 12 Jun 2002
The majority of Korn fans & even Korn themselves claim this album as the dud. This was the first Korn album I bought (the only time I heard Korn before was 'Blind' on a movie soundtrack) & I loved it. This is definitely the most raw, rushed album without doubt. But it's the rawness & angst that korn are supposed to be about (before losing the plot slightly with 'Follow the Leader' (also a good album)).
'Twist' has Jonathan Davis ranting like a Tasmanian Devil on a hot plate! The mid sections on 'Chi', 'Swallow' & 'No Place to Hide' show the increasing hip-hop influence. Their aggression is really evident on 'Good God', 'ADIDAS', 'Mr Rogers', & 'Kill You'. The low point is 'K*%$!' where Davis' swearing won't go down with everybody.
