Fantastic! - By: Uncle A, 25 Sep 2007
Throw aside all your prejudices against world music, forget the half-baked Robbie Williams cover of "Bongo Bong", & enter the magical world of Manu Chao. Simply a fantastic album, all fits together so well, a beautiful blend of musical styles & influences. Make this the soundtrack to your 2007!
THE TIME IS NOW FOR MANU CHAO - By: R. J. Salusbury, 04 Oct 2004
It's a pity the UK record buying public is so biased towards foreign language albums, & you have to lookin the 'World Music' section to find this superb album. I have to admit to being prejudice myself until going to Turkey & hearing a lot more foreign language music.
This is such an eclectic album, with Mexican, Cuban & Latin (and we are not talking Ricky Martin here!), & a dash of reggae all mixed up to form a wonderful sound. All the songs effortlessly blend together & there are plenty of 'hooks' & grooves that lodge themselvesin your head! For most of the album I haven't got a clue what he's singing about, but when the music is this good, I don't really care. In summary, buy it!!

Supersonica! - By: , 04 Jul 2004
This is actually the second Manu Chao album I've listened to (the other being Esperanza)and once again I find myselfin awe of this guys genius. I love the pan-European flavour of his stuff, the polyglot playfulness of his lyrics & the wonderful, wondeful music that cannot fail to make you happy. Even the 'sad' tracks are so imbued with the joy of living that you want to go & jumpin the sea, laughing. It's great. Buy it.
