I came upon this CD by accident (i bought it for a few pounds on promo) & for a while i found the contemplative tone rather dull. The melodies were so opaque & the playing so restrained that it took many listens (as is the case with so much good music) to appreciate the many subtleties that Stenson's playing evokes. But now i cannot get enough of it & I strongly recommend this to Bill Evans fans. I will be purchasing his back catalogue as soon as i can afford it!
