Buy it for track 6 - By: Oscar's Czerny, 23 Jun 2001
As above - track 6, Lever Street will slowly tear your heart apart, with its poignant chords, that build into the aural equivalent of a broken heart. Hear the sobbing, dig out those pictures of your first, lost love, & wallowin what is a masterpiece. Even if it is only a ninth of the album.....
VIVA LAS FEARLESS - By: Mr. Abbas Rana, 10 May 2001
I've said it before & I'll day it again, Richard Fearless is a musical genius & this album is definitive proof of this. In the shadow of the Chemical Brothers & other Big Beat bands, 'Dead Elvis' failed to receive the critical acclaim & exposure that it deserved.
This follow-up is just as innovative but perhaps more maturein its production. 'Lever Street' is the best & most simple track on the album. It's basically a beautiful peice of organ music, which really pushes the boundary of Fearless' talent. The track that follows ('Aladdin's Story') is a chilled out, guitar-laced ditty with a lazy summer bass line. Excellent Stuff!
'Aisha' & the collaboration with Bobby G. are a changein mood & explore the more funky, moody & angry sounds of Fearless's music. Whilst 'Dirge' is an ultimately cool groovy track, 'Flying' is a floating psychedelic journey & impressive guitar hooks run through both tracks. In terms of both technical production & accessibility, this is a truly excellent album & one can't help but anticipate the next Death In Vegas record.

disappointing - By: Singlespeeder, 21 Feb 2001
this album reminded me of the utah saintsin that deathin vegas have a few good tunes but not an lp worth. hopefully we won't have to wait as long for the second album as we have for the utah saints.
if the principal track that attracted you to this album was aisha i'd seriously consider buying something by ministry for comparison with how this type of rock can & should be done.
this is a really really good album - By: , 30 Nov 2000
i bought this album because i heard dirge & really liked it. some songs took a while to grow on me but its dead good (excuse the pun). dirge is the sort of songs that makes me jump around the room, play air guitar, & kick things really hard while shouting "la la la"in a high pitced voice( which isn't a n easy thing to get me to do). "flying" really makes you feel like you're flying this a really atmospheric album. if you like uplifting catchy songs, don't buy it. if you like songs that make you want to jump around, pretend to play guitar & sing, & fly,get it
