Classic guilty pleasure! - By: A Music Lover, 12 Aug 2008
Shhh...I've never told anyone this before but...I really love this album. It's partly due to nostalgia; as a child of the 90s this was everywhere, school discos, friends' parties, barbecues, radio, blasting out of every other car, etc etc. When punk & the Sex Pistols burst onto my musical landscape, this, along with Britney Spears etc, was thrown out- or rather moved downstairs onto my parents' cd rack- but listening back to it now I grudgingly admit that I quite enjoy itin a cheesy kind of way (thankfully Britney has long since left my household). It's not country music (cue cries of "sell-out" & 1-star reviews from outraged country music fans)- just great commercial, radio-friendly pop (played mostly by real people on real instruments unlike much of the chart pop today). And that's all it is. No great depth, artistic innovation or political statements here. Just big hooks, singalong choruses & feelgood lyrics. It's not entirely flawless but for an album of 16 tracks it's pretty consistent. We all know that statistics don't prove anything but come on, so many million people can't be all that wrong. Go on, you know you want to...just don't tell your mates!
some beautiful songs. - By: S. Firth, 28 Aug 2007
This album has some really beautiful songs, my faves been 'From this Moment On' & 'You've got a way' they really make me feel all lovely when i hear them!

the most popular songs on this album like 'man i feel like a woman' & 'that dont impress me much' well, i dont like them much. but other faves are 'whatever you do, dont!' & a few others too. a song for every occasion like someone said. especially when yourin love.

Country Music Biggest Hit! - By: Dean Gaffney, 27 Dec 2006
There seems to be some confusion as to the release date of this album, but to clear it up it was November 1997. When it was released it looked like it wasn't going to be as successful as it's multi-million-selling predecessor; The Woman In Me (1995), it had a slower rise up the charts, although it never reached the #1 positionin the U.S. But the album broke several sales records, becoming the best-selling U.S album of the 1990's, the best-selling U.S female album ever, the best-selling country album ever, & the 4th overall best-selling albumin U.S history. To date, Come On Over has sold over 20 million copiesin the U.S alone, & internationally has sold more than 36 million copies world-wide. It's clear country-music was the America's most popular form of musicin the 90's, thanks to Garth Brooks. But Shania sneakily had all the songs remixed to give the album a more dancier vibe, & the album became country music's greatest crossover hit. This album is one of the most upbeat & catchiest albums the world has ever heard.
