Maiden's Best - By: Anonymous reviewer, 13 Aug 2008
I'll give the review track by track after this overview. I like this album because it was probably their most progressive of the 80's & featured a lot of great tracks.
Moonchild 8.5/10
A great opener. One of three real claims for best album opener. (The other two are 'caught somewherein time' & 'invaders'in my opinion).
Infinite Dreams 9/10
A good track, one of Maiden's better ballads.
Can I Play With Madness 10/10
Maiden's best track.
The Evil That Men Do 9/10
A nice track. Not their best.
Seventh Son of a Seventh Son 7/10
Not their best epic. But still good.
The Prophecy 9.5/10
Maidens most underrated track. I think the alternating riffs are fantastic.
The Clairvoyant 8.5/10
Good but not amazing.
Only The Good Die Young 9/10
A good finishing track but not as good as some other finishing efforts.

Iron Maiden 7 - By: Jrc Salter, 10 Mar 2008
According to the information on the CD this is considered by certain members of the band to be their best album ever. It certainly has some good tracks on it, but what lured me into buying it before some others is the fact that it is a concept album. All the tracks revolve around a seventh son of a seventh son; quite appropriate considering this is their seventh album.
There really isn't a dull track on this CD & most of them really stand out on first listening & need no time to appreciate. The opening words of "Can I Play With Madness", the hummable melody of "The Evil The Men Do", the chorus of the titular track & the morbid truth statedin "The Clairvoyant"; all of these & more will be stuckin my head after listening to the album
As with the rest of this series, the CD is packed full of CD ROM content. Two full length videos ("Can I Play With Madness" & "The Evil That Men Do") & clips from "The Clairvoyant" & "Infinite Dreams" (although on my version these last two are mislabelled); you have the option to watch them as a small or large size (large being only about half the size of the screen) but due to the limits of CDs the videos are very grainy. A wealth of information about the making & release of the album, photos, family tree, album art & tour dates are also included.
The CD comesin a standard CD case with a booklet containing lyrics, pictures & album art.
Allin all & essential buy for Iron Maiden fans & metal fansin general.

Flawless! - By: Mikey, 03 Mar 2008
Let's start off by saying Iron Maiden have released a shed load of astonishing albums, during the late 70's, all the way through the 80's & beyond, right up to the present day (the latest release being A Matter Of Life And Death). But throughout their on-going career, since the release of Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, it's been hard for them to top the perfection of this album. Ok, so Brave New World came close but not close enough.
At the time of it's release Iron Maiden had conquored the world & were the biggest metal band on the planet (and still are). This album proves why.
It spawned 4 singles, 'Can I Play With Madness', 'Infinite Dreams', The Evil That Men Do' & 'The Clairvoyant'. Baringin mind it only has 8 tracks (the title track being 9+ minutes long, yet never fails to amaze).
Maiden were at the top of their game at the point of this release, if ever you are interestedin getting an Iron Maiden album, I recommend this one. A landmarkin metal music & a classic album through & through.
Maiden hit top gear - By: Mark Simpson, 09 Aug 2007
There are plenty to choose from, but this is a strong contender for the accolade of Best Iron Maiden Album. At first glance, occult-influenced lyrics may seem a somewhat unimaginative step for a metal band, but the stories toldin this selection of tracks are better than most bands can dream of. Nor is this the only Maiden release to dabblein synths, but it is definitely the albumin which they are deployed to greatest effect, adding something to the tracks without overwhelming them. In other ways, of course, it's business as usual, with that unmistakeable guitar sound & Dickinson's soaring vocals. It is difficult to pick stand-out tracks - this album is definitely designed to be listened toin its entirety - but if forced to choose, opening track Moonchild is a perfect example of how to grab the listener's attention & make them want to persevere with all ten tracks.
