Classic Whitesnake - U.K. mix - By: the HOOK, 03 May 2008
Great Whitesnake album, stand out tracks for me are, Slide It In, Slow An' Easy, Guilty Of Love, this is the original U.K. mix that features Mell Galley & Micky Moody on guitar, it sounds like the classic Whitesnake rather that the Americanized Whitesnake of today
One of Whitesnake's Finest. - By: Seasoned Rock Fan, 22 Jun 2007
This is a superb Rock Album crammed with suprb tracks, harmonised guitars & coverdales husky voicein fine form & powerhouse percussion from the late great power house cozy powell. Whitesnake pre-87 were a different & generally better band with their wown sound & niche & this is their show case for that era.

This is the halfway house between the later heavier stuff & the earlier bluesy feel & it really does work. The superb 'come & get it' album was followed by a dipin the inferior 'Saints & Sinners' but this follow up 'Slide it in' Certainly fitted well.

If you like good rock music this is well, well recommended.

One of the best blues-metal albums of all time - By: Bankia, 06 Jul 2001
This is one of the greatest blues-metal albums of all time. All the songs are great, my favorite on the album Love ain't no stranger is at the time my favorite blues-metal song. I have never heard Coverdale sing like he does on this album. Buy it!!
80s Rock Classic (with comedy lyrics) - By: A. Jordan, 17 Jan 2001
Listen to this album & try to keep a straight face. Sample lyrics include the classic ... "I'm gonna slide itin right to the top" & "spit it out if you don't like it." Call me naive but as an innocent young creature I always wondered what David Coverdale meant, looking back now I wonder if he had some serious problems! The music however is fantastic. The album opens with the slowly building 'Gambler' which gets going to lead you into the rest of the CD. Loud bluesy guitars & Mr. Coverdale's breathy vocals dominate the album & make for some classic tunes. This record is leaps & bounds above much of the rest of the so called 'New Wave Of British Heavey Metal' from the same period & still sounds alive today. I am amazed as to how well that this has stood the test of time. It is also much better than the turgid rubbish that followed when Whitesnake went all American on us. On top of that you will titter at the lyrics ... what more could any rock fan wish for.
