There could have been more - By: Mr. Russell C. Witheyman, 09 Aug 2008
There's no doubting the quality of the material on this best of EWF. Fantasy,Let groove,Boogie wonderland,After the love has gone..all the big hits are here, yet this album is missing loads more classic EWF songs that could have made this a 5 star album..i only knocked a star off coz of the glaring ommisions on this. Oddly, Shining star which was one of their biggest hits is stangely absent & what about Serpentine fire,Loves holiday,Loves magic,Lady sun,A songin my heart,Take it to the sky,You,Getaway,Something special & so on!! I hope one day someone will release an antology which will do the band justice. If your new to EWF then this is a good introduction..as i said all the big hits bar one or two are here but if you like the bulk of this CD then i urge you to check out the following albums as you'll get lots of extra gems!! check out "Thats the way of the world"(1975) "Spirit" (1976) "All n All" (1977) "I'am" (1979) "Faces" (1980) "Raise" (1981) & "Powerlight" (1982)
Also check out "The Best of EWF Vol 1" (1978) as it features the tracks Gratitude,September & Love magic & singasong which you cant find on any studio album.
Disco Magic - By: , 04 Apr 2003
Wow.This really does sum up the phenominal career of these disco veterans. Featuring disco belters such as Lets Groove, September, Boogie Wonderland & Fallin Love With Me, how can you resist getting up & getting your boogie on.Also featuring the more low care affairs of After the Love Has Gone & You Can't Hide Love, why wouldn't you feel the need to own this bevvy of classics.Topdraw.
A worthy collection of funk classics from the mystical band - By: C. Jarvis, 27 Jan 2002
This is a worthy collection of the one of the best r&b/funk bands ever. It features all of the well known classics - Let's groove, Boogie Wondeland, September, After the love has gone- plus some of the lesser known hits - Jupiter, Can't let go, fallin love with me. It would have been great if some of the earlier stuff (pre the UK hits) from the early to mid seventies had been included just to present a wider range of the band's work (then I suppose there are other of the band's compilations that do that). Otherwise this is a very good compilation of funk classics (and great to have it on minidisc) from a mystical, magical band.
