Re-visit,re-visit-urgent - By: Archie Grimwald, 05 Oct 2007
I like many others recently dug this cd out of my collection. Most of you will think you are familiar with this work but let me assure you that you are not!!! The melodies & beats on this album are beyond ctiticism even for those of you that do not like hip-hop.A soulful set that will;in time, without question be regarded as a swansong to the twentieth century.Truly a classic which I think the fact no follow up album has been released testifies to the musical genious of Ms.Hill.How exactly do you follow up hip-hop/soul/r'n'b perfection? Lyrically & musically this album set a benchmark that has not really been matched within black music.
A true artist! - By: Terri Coleman, 24 Jun 2006
I listened to Miseducation again after years - I lost my original CD backin 1999 & hadn't replaced it till recently. I have been blown away again! Miss Hill has a talent that is rare. The blend of her voice, the music & the raw Hip Hop beat produced one of the best albums of all timein my books. Listening to this album again has made me realise what a lack of real talent there is today!
Soundtrack of my life - By: , 09 Apr 2005
This is my favourite album ever. Lauryn is a lyrical genius. Every song is beautiful & the album flows excellently to give the story of a lifein love, out again, then back in. It's hard to choose which songs are superior becaus they're all so good. No wonder it won 5 Grammys. The rapping, the reggae, the soul, the beats, the voice- perfection!
Classic - By: J. E. Davidson, 09 Mar 2005
Quite simply one of the best albums of the 90s, probably one of the best albums ever.
It is a little difficult to put your finger on why this album is so fantastic - is it Lauren Hill's wonderful voice? The way that the album seamlessly blends a variety of musical styles, including soul, reggae & hip-hop? The fantastic guests including Mary J. Blige & Carlos Santana? The excellent material (although the material is so uniformly excellent that the singles do not really stand out)?
This album has stood the test of time & sounds as fresh today as it did when it was first released.
It is an essential elementin everyone's collection. If you do not already own it, find it & buy it.
Spectacular! - By: , 09 Dec 2004
Amazing! This album is one of my favourites - a timeless classic. This album has reggae, hip hop & r'n'b influences throughout. Lauryn also collaborates with other stars such as D'Angelo, Mary J. Blige & Carlos Santana. Lauryn Hill is a truly gifted artist, with a beautiful voice, who wrote & produced every track on this album (which is rare today!) The lyrics are very deep & heartfelt. I would definitely recommend this album to anyone who loves music & appreciates true talent.
