A Very Classy, Pristine Album - By: Kittycat63, 12 Jul 2007
I have been a big fan of Sarah McLachlan's for years after discovering her musicin the 90's when I livedin America, & I have all her albums. Mirrorball is a wonderful live album, & most live albums are often mediocrein comparison to studio recordings so for one to sound this good is a rarity. This album contains some of her most well-known songs so would be a great introduction to her music for anyone who doesn't know of her. She is one of the best female musiciansin recent years & her voice is just remarkable. She stands head & shoulders above a lot of other young female vocalists who I think often tend to sound very similar to each other, even if they do have good voices. Her songs are often incredibly poignant & moving, such as Angel & I Will Remember You, which is a song that was the last song an ex boyfriend & I heard together before he left to go & work abroad, which was the end of our relationship, & even he broke down when that song was playing because it is so incredibly moving. Other favourites on this album are Good Enough, I Love You, Path of Thorns, Possession, Sweet Surrender, & the very sexy Ice Cream. Another Canadian singer I love is Chantal Kreviazuk who is also able to move me with her music & voice the same way Sarah McLachlan does, so I don't know whether there's somethingin the Canadian water which produces wonderful female vocalists ... well, male too as Tom Cochrane is also an amazing musician! Mirrorball is an absolute must-have album.
Just As Good Live As In The Studio! - By: S. Smith, 21 Feb 2004
Some artists can sound absolutely awful live, while some come into their own. Sarah comes into her ownin this superb live CD containing 14 tracks from Solace, Fumbling Towards Ecstacy & Surfacing.
Some songs have taken on a more cohesive sound from the originals as most sounds are now played with a full band. Some, like Possession, have some superb finishes to them & Sarah really knows how to get the listener & the crowd going. was leftin awe that people can perform live with such panache! Few people can pull it off.
Spacing out the band efforts are piano & vocal songs "So What You Have To Do" & "Angels", the later being one of the many highlights of the album - so very sweet & heartfelt.
A great introduction to her work & you can pick your way through the albums via the songs you like best!
Mclachlans Magic - By: , 16 Dec 2003
My first introduction to Sarahs music was 'Angel' which was being playedin a mall, as soon as i heard it i had to go & find it! I was stunned by the haunting echoes of her voice twinned with the timelessness played from the piano. Her music is enough to suspend time.
If you like a bit of rock, a little bit of a ballad & a good sing along, then Mirrorball is the answer. From start to finish you cannot but help from being drawn into the world that Mclachlan creates. With Mirrorball being a live album you can feel the buzz from the audience as they sing along, just as you will.
I fully recommend Sarah Mclachlans album, 'mirrorball'
I can listen to this album 20 times a day & not get sick of it, only enjoy it more.
A truly brilliant CD - By: , 16 Nov 2003
If you only ever buy one Sarah McLachlan CD, buy this one. That is, if you're not a Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan,in which case buy 'Surfacing'. I first heard Sarah on Charmed, the song 'I love you', & I was instantlyin love with it. I went out & bought this CD that weekend. I've gotta say that 'I love you', 'I will remember you', 'Adia' & 'Angel' are my fave tracks, but there isn't a single song on the CD I don't love. It's very rare to get an album that you never have to skip a song on, but this is it.
Outstanding - By: Alisia, 21 Apr 2003
Like a lot of people, I discovered Sarah McLachlan through the tearjearking number 'Full of Grace', which was featuredin Season two of the tv programme 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'. After hearing this I bought her album 'Surfacing' which was so excellent that I bought 'Mirrorball'. As I am skeptical about buying live albums because they are so often crap, I was pleasantly surprised with this one. Favourites are 'Building a Mystery' (a classic), 'I Will Remember You' & 'Angel'. I was outraged when Westlife came out with a cover of this fantastic single because to be quite honest, their version was absolutely crap & did not do the song justice evenin the least. Sarah's voice will captivate you & I can guarentee that you will wear this CD out, you will play it so much!
