Pure sunshine music - By: D. Prieto, 20 Apr 2007
Saw the man himself at Glastonbury Festival 2003 & he brought the sunshine out & Jamaica to the people what a show. This CD is a fantastic collection of all his hits & you wont go wrong by listening to this on a hot summers day - you will have a smile on your face. This is about as uplifting as music can get.
Jimmy, you can get it if you want it - By: Mailian, 13 Feb 2004
In the late 1960s Jimmy Cliff was along with Desmond Dekker the popface of the burgeoning reggae-scene. He hit the charts with the unashamedly commercial tracks 6,7,9 & 12, that still sound fresh today. He gained fame starringin the underground hitmovie The harder they come, contributing great classic tracks to its soundtrack (10,15,19). But then he tried to record soul & the results were solid but undistinguished tracks 8,16,20. This compilation does present all his other great reggae tracks such as the opening track, Sufferin'in the land & Struggling man.
An enjoyable cd for a great price & the best Jimmy Cliff around.
Jimmy Cliffe - Whats not to like! - By: , 04 Jun 2003
For those of you who are new to Jimmy Cliffe, this CD is an excellent one to start your collection.
Worth buying for track 15 on its own (many rivers to cross), this CD is a must for any reggae/ska fan - but then, anyonein the know would already have it!
