This is a fine piece of work from the legendary vivian jackson & king tubby.Reggae music does'nt get much dreader than this really & the musicians involved are just excellent.Thanks to blood & fire records this classic VERY RARE lp has been made available again with the inclusion of some worthwhile bonus tracks.What more can i say really apart from the fact that this iz one of the best dub albums to come out of jamaica,if u like dub reggae then buy this cd.
Totaly Agree - By: , 27 Sep 2003 This is my favorite Dub album. The tunes are not over the top or needlessly spaced out with effects. Perfect mood music, some of the most memorable dub reggae you'll ever hear.
One of the best - By: Alex Hubble, 10 Sep 2003 I've owned a copy of this album for a long time, it was the first dub album I bought & I keep coming back to it. Why?
The album is based around Yabby U's 'Conquering Lion' which can be found 'Jesus Dread', also on Blood & Fire, & what a foundation it gives. Yabby U's rhythms are fluid, melodic & insistent, full of power. The production is perfect, spacy & spaced out but not dominated by sound effects & echo-reverb & Tubby knows just what to take out, whilst leavingin the bones of the songs. This is an instrumental dub album & a heavy one but, almost incredibly, one you can sing along to. Well, whistle along, but you know what I mean.
Fantastic. If you like dub & your bass speakers can stand it this will not disappoint.
