best moves? are they really? - By: cmbayes, 12 Mar 2007
its so annoying i like this, i know its rubbish everytime i hear any of the tracks i want to hit myselfin the face because for some unknown reason i love it. i've tried to figure it out & i'm down to two possible explanations either i was taken as a child & made to listen to this relentless passionless tripe until i like it or its actually really good! i think option one is more likely but there you go! make ur own mind up.
One for your Desert Island. - By: , 04 Mar 2004
If I had to take an album to a desert island, this would be the one. It has every mood - to go from a pure love song of Satin Green Shutters to the gloriously raunchy Patricia the Stripper to the epic Spanish Train is rather special. If only radio stations would play Waiting for the Hurricane & not the dreaded Ladyin Red, I think a lot of fans would be so much happier - & probably the rest of the world would be too.
This was the album that made me go & buy the earlier CdB albums, which are, frankly, my favourites. Better lyrics, simpler arrangements & very little schmaltz. What else are you waiting for?
A living legend - By: Koala, 23 Sep 2003
Well, Chris has done it again!
This album follows onin a proud tradition of music which speaks very deeply about the human condition. Chris's lyrics bring outstanding wisdom to our troubled times. Also, his ability to move the soul with his soaring soundscapes is beyond comparison.
Many people fail to see the genuis of Chris De Burgh. Only many years after he has gone may his contribution to music be fully appreciated.
All of his tracks, right from the first one through to all the rest, exude brilliance & wonderfulnessin almost dizzying quantities. This man truly does not know his own strength!
If you are planning to pass up this album, shame on you! You are denying your children & grandchildren a cultural legacy which they richly deserve! Buy this album, for the sake of generations yet unborn!
I have used my voice, I can do no more. The rest is down to you, true believer!
Chris de Burgh - Best Moves - By: Mr. D. Boss, 28 Jul 2003
This is another good collection of CDB's music. I especially like In A Country Churchyard. A good one to move the soul. It makes you think.
This CD has more of the mooving songs on it than anything, but here is another one to buy.
great songs - By: , 10 Feb 2001
of all the Chris de Burgh music I've heard, this has some of his best songs. lots of variety, from In a Country Churchyard, which is peaceful, to the very funny Patricia the Stripper.
