My favourite album of all time. - By: KM WHITEHOUSE, 29 Mar 2008
The KLF are best remembered for "What Time Is Love?" & their media pranks. This album is just a pure joy to listen to, recordedin a minimalist way. The music is almost background music to Drummond & Cauty's soundscape of rivers, trains, sheep, planes, cars, mad preachers, & everyday sounds that you hear but never takes notice of, but on this album you do. If you can't sleep at night, put this album onin the dark & you begin to imagine you are on a journey around distant lands. The KLF also used samples from Elvis Presley, Fleetwood Mac, Acker Bilk, Jesus Loves You (aka Boy George). Some stripped down versions of some KLF classics are here too, although retitled, along with what has to be the most impressive track the KLF ever recorded "Madrugada Eterna". If you like easy listening then this is for you. If you only ever buy one KLF CD, buy this one, & as the title says... "Chill Out"

Genius - By: Dangermouse, 10 Dec 2007
Say what you like about KLF-this is a work of genius! Too many late nights spent listening to this might scramble your mind but its worth it.
What an album........ - By: A. Hope, 22 Nov 2007
Glad to see this album is still available, as many other greats of the time, such as B.A.D.'s 'The Globe' are sadly out of circulation. Chill Out will forever have a placein my heart for being the first album I'd grab upon coming home from a hard night's stomping - just the thing needed to calm the mind. It's a far cry from the disasterously commercial 'White Room' - of which only a couple of tracks are worthy of listening to.
Elvis on the Radio, Steel Guitar in my Soul!! - By: plastic boy, 14 Aug 2007
I just had to write a review for Chill Out. I was actually looking for reviews of FSOL's latest release of rarities & thought I'd look up the KLF out of curiousity.
I was interested to see that only 2 out of the 20 reviews gave it less than 5 stars & whilst everyone has their own tastes, I'm very muchin agrement with the other 18!!!!!

Absolutley classic album, so lush, with such a dream like quality to it. I went through a phase when I was about 19 (11 years ago!!) when I was dossing downin my dad's living room & all I had was my trusty old gehtto-blaster & a copy of Chill Out on cassette! I must have listened to the album everysingle night for about 2 or 3 months, when I wasin a very 'Chilled out' state of state of mind (If you catch my drift, LOL!!)

In my opinion, the KLF were immense, without a shaddow of a doubt, one of the most influencial dance acts's of all time. Without them, I probably would never have become so obssesed with dance music, particularly trance, & whilst I attribute that down to their records like What Time is Love & 3am, the Chill Out album is something very special. The steel pedal guitar driftingin & out, the American News Reader, not to mention the remix version's of Elvis & Stranger on the Shore!!!
It's top class!!!!!

I only really listen to the album periodically these days, not every 24 hours but I still love it just as much!!!!

The KLF will never be surpassed!!!!!
They trully were unique!!!!
Fantastic - By: phaedrus74, 17 Dec 2006
Is this really the same bunch of [...] that brought us a unique blend of musically disposable political pranksterism, as well as acting (if my memory serves me correctly) as the Timelords? Apparently so, but this is a very different kettle of fish, & one that, pardon the metaphor, has remained a lot fresher.

An ambient mix of steel guitar, road & train noise, Elvis, radio announcements & ads... a blissful ride, all the way up the East coast. Or at least from Brownsville to Baton Rouge & beyond... You won't regret shelling out for this one (I hope), it works superbly & strikes me as highly innovative. Only problem is, it's about half an hour too short! And there's nothing else out there that sounds like it, as far as I can tell... I love this album, just buy it & like it, okay?
