A timeless masterpiece - By: M. TAYLOR, 10 Jan 2010
I first bought this on vinyl backin 1974, I loved it then, but had not listened to it for 30 years or so. I was reminded of it by hearing Johnnie Walker playing Let It Grow on his Sunday afternoon BBC Radio 2 show. I ordered the de luxe 2 disc edition as opposed to the single disc version. On first hearing I found the sound a little flat although it is remastered. The bonus tracks on disc 1 are interesting but not essential. What makes this edition worth the extra 3 or 4 pounds is the second disc, which is a live concert from late 74 which is truly magnificent, especially the closing track Let It Rain.

I got to know this album very well when it was hot off the presses & I was still at school. It has stood the test of time, & is well worth owning. Good value, & available immediately - Amazon gets it right again!
461 Ocean Boulevard - Clapton mellows out - By: Mr. John G. Tyler, 07 Mar 2009
I bought this after listening to a Clapton & JJ Cale album.
Originally had 461 on vinyl & remembered it as mellow, so it was a natural move. Great stuff.
Unpredictable, laid back and fine - By: Mr W, 16 Jun 2008
This is a wonderful album. It marked Clapton's sobriety following his heroin usage, & has a theme of redemption & rebirth running through it. Also, there's a strong taste of someone who has turned himself inside & out.
In places, this is passionate, elsewhere playful, &in many places you can hear a man asking himself what he has left. Fantastic stuff, strongly recommended.
