In 1991 some ten years since The Selecter split up Pauline Black & Neol Davis assembled a band to tour as The Selecter after seeing the success the Special Beat show band had. As had been the case a decade earlier most promoters insisted on spelling the band name The Selector & so it is on the ticket stub of the show I attended.

Despite not actually being The Selecter they played a fantastic set drawn mainly from the `Too Much Pressure' LP & some uncollected singles with only `Celebrate the Bullet' representing their second LP. And so when receiver records issued this LP I rushed out to buy it to keep my ticket stub in.

After the success of the tour the band started recording again at first with & then without principle songwriter Neol however these albums failed to capture the excitement of the early Selecter or this greatest hits tour. Celebrate the band not the bullet.
